Yoga improves posture and emphasizes deep breathing. As a result, it helps improve the way we stand, move, and breathe. This is particularly important for teenagers, because they spend so much time hunched over their phones and computers.

Yoga has been shown to increase stress resilience and feelings of connection. Therefore, it protects against depression. Researchers believe this effect is due to the stimulation of the vagus nerve, produced by the conscious movement and breathing practiced in yoga. There are many types of yoga.


Pranayama is the most important for such people. It involves taking deep and long breaths and exhaling. Similarly, pulse correction method is also useful. This method works by getting oxygen to the brain. It activates the patient’s hormones like endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and turns them into joy, happiness and excitement.

This pranayama is suitable for 20 to 25 minutes. Meditation can also be done in the same way. You can gradually increase the time by meditating for 10 to 20 minutes at the beginning. You need to keep busy during this time, whether with family, friends, or whatever you like. It can be mentally and physically healthy by doing physical exercise, yoga, meditation together for some time.

Kundalini Yoga

The Kundalini Yoga practice known as Kirtan Kriya can also decrease symptoms of depression and improve mental health. Kundalini Yoga is known for its ability to support people in healing from addiction.

Specifically, Kundalini Yoga includes practices designed specifically to break addictive habits and reduce stress. Consequently, the combination of breath work, mudra (hand gestures with specific meanings), mantra (chanting), postures, and meditation positively impacts the nervous system.
